This scarf pin is designed to hold together a scarf or pashima, making it into a wearable, hands free covering. It's the perfect way to dress up a plain shirt and jeans and make an attractive outfit for a night out.
This type of closure is called a fibula ( where the pin stem is a visible part of the design) or a penannular: a circular, rotating clasp.
You can find a lot of this style of pin all over for much less money but this is not cast by the thousands or made from base metal. This is a hand forged and hammered piece of sterling silver. The oval is made from heavy ten gauge wire and the pin is from fourteen gauge silver.
The oval of the clasp is approximately 1 1/16" wide. I made this scarf pin by hand in my studio. It comes ready to wear and attractively packaged. Feel free to contact me for more information or any questions you may have.
